Combo Story
Derek had a game today and they won. He had 1 pop fly and was out, 1 inside the park home run and 1 home run over the left center fence. He made All-Stars so we're really happy about that. Cara had her 3rd birthday today and it was a lot of fun. Grandpa and Mike were there and it was really good to visit with them.

Shark!!!
Mom and Dad went to Florida Thursday. I talked to them today and they went fishing. Mom fought an 80 pound shark!!!! She said that as she was reeling it in the line broke. It was an official catch according to the fishing guide. Go Mom!!!! I guess you could say she has a REAL fishin' story.

FYI: Surgery
FYI. I have had so many surgeries I figure I'm a pro at this point. Apparently not. I had surgery back In may on my foot as many of you know. It was just an In and out procedure with no worries. Well, now my foot Is worse than ever. My doctor dropped me under ridiculous circumstances. So, I went to my PCP and told him briefly the situation. First I want to point out that he's the doctor that everyone refers to(the surgeon). My PCP ran some scans on me and It took him nearly two weeks to get back to me after I'd been calling everyday. When I finally got a hold of him he didn't say much. He just said that I had some arthritis and my ligaments are swelling. He was fumbling for a referral kind of nervous like. This was all very strange to me because he has always been very Informative on any situation. Then he told me that all he will say Is that I need to get a second opinion. Again, very strange. So I know some people who work for doctors so I asked around what they might think. All anyone says Is to get a second opinion on the situation. Natalie spoke to her boss and she said that It sounds like somebody messed up In the O.R. and they are trying to cover It up. Hopefully that Is not the situation but as strange as everyone Is acting I can't help but get a little nervous. Anyway, even great doctors can screw up so If surgery ever comes up In your world think long and hard about It. Just FYI.

Had A Blast
Well, i guess you could say there were errors in the 1st 4 innings.....and a lot of em'. They woke up in the last inning and scored 4 runs leaving it 5-4 our loss. Derek pitched great and had 2 doubles. He had some buddies on the other team so he had a blast regardless.

Wooooooooooaaaaah!
Derek pitched at Saturdays game and he did really well. He walked the whole game so he was pretty mad about that. He stole home and the ump called him out. Derek slammed his hands on the ground and yelled," COME ON!!!" He was a lil' chapped and for the record he was safe by a mile. Anyway, he hustled out to the mound maddern' a hornet. The guy who tagged him at home plate was up to bat. It was kind of funny. Derek hummed the ball in the inside and the kid stepped back, eyes wide open and said," Wooooooooooaaaaah!" I guess he pitches faster when he's mad? He did hit a kid but he felt really bad about it. The kid was crying on the ground and derek took a knee and hung his head. Anyhow, he struck a lot of em' out and just had a blast. Tomorrow night's game is the kicker. The Reds and Astros have both lost one. We lost against the Reds once, we tied the last game and this is the last time they'll play so it's a make or break kind of thing. I think Derek is pitching because they've had a hard time hitting off of a lefty. We'll see how it goes! GO ASTROS GO!!!
